How we use your information

Last updated October 2026. Short version: we only use what you tell us to run We Are Audient, and we never sell or share it.

What we collect

When you become a member we ask for your name and email address. Everything else is optional: how you'd describe your hearing, what you use (like hearing aids or captions), your age range, your country, state and ZIP code, and how you'd like to be involved.

We don't use advertising trackers. To block spam, our server briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address, which is deleted within an hour.

How we use it

  • To email you news, events and ways to get involved.
  • To invite you to meetups near you, if you ask for that.
  • To understand who our community is. Hearing, age and location answers are only reported as totals, like "40% of members are under 35". We never publish anything about you by name.

Who can see it

Only the We Are Audient team. Your information is stored on our own server, not in an advertising or marketing database. We don't sell, rent or trade it. If we ever use an email service to send newsletters, we'll only give it your name and email address so it can deliver them.

Your choices

  • Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works right away.
  • Want us to change or delete your information? Email us and we'll do it.
  • Signing up again with the same email updates your answers.

Age

Membership is for people 18 and older.
