Built to be easy for everyone
Last updated October 2026. We ask businesses to make life easier for audient people, so we hold our own site to the same standard. If anything here gets in your way, tell us and we'll fix it.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That's the standard most organizations and laws point to for websites people of all abilities can use.
What we've done
- Our main text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed to make letters easy to tell apart.
- Text and backgrounds have strong contrast, in both light and dark mode.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a clear outline showing where you are, and a "Skip to content" link at the top of each page.
- Pages use proper headings and labels, so screen readers can read and navigate them.
- Charts and numbers are also written out as text, not shown only as pictures.
- The moving sound wave on the home page has a pause button, and if your device is set to reduce motion, it doesn't move at all.
- Pages adjust to any screen size and still work when you zoom in.
Videos and audio
Every video we publish will have accurate captions, checked by a person rather than left to auto-captions. We don't put important information in audio alone.
What we're still working on
The site is new, and we haven't had an outside accessibility audit yet. Some pages we link to, like social media sites, are run by other companies and may not meet the same standard.
Tell us what's not working
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email hello@weareaudient.org. Let us know the page and what went wrong, and we'll get back to you within a few days.
